Okay, BOS, by airport standards, you are located very close to the city.
Terminal A is chock full of some good dining/drinking choices - but you'll need to be flying Delta or one of the few United destinations serviced at Terminal A.  
Free wi-fi is available.  How all airports do not offer it in this day and age is beyond me.  

Like many (or maybe all) airports, there are some things that need some work:
Baggage claim can be quite slow
Due to its location, weather delays can be more of a problem.  It's located at the end of a peninsula at the mouth of Boston Harbor and can get some pretty nasty weather.  
Cab fares get a bit pricey due to tolls for the tunnels and taxi pool fees.

A Central Boston Logan parking garage for four terminals has parking signs that don't mean anything, are extremely confusing and downright misleading. I have gotten lost so many times not only trying to locate my car after saying goodbye to someone at security, and then getting to the terminal after parking!  Not only that, prepare to walk FOREVER across a stupid bridge to get to the main airport. I shudder at the thought of mothers with small children having to coordinate that trek with luggage, screaming toddlers, etc . Empathy, people. Why the massive trek? no. I swear they do this just so people rack up time on their parking tickets since you pretty much have to be Superman or Wonder Woman to get out of there in less than 20-30min.

Interestingly (and ironically) enough, once you've actually parked your car and gotten through the door, the parking garage is actually quite pretty - I guess they have to find a way to calm down irritated people via soothing music, acrylic designs, etc.

Next time someone asks you to drive them to BOS, DON'T unless you a) can drop them off without parking, b) are at Terminal E, c) have a high threshold for stress. Same goes for picking people up. If you make sure to set up a hotel and parking deal in advance, you not only get your vacation parking for free after waking up rested and refreshed in a nice Boston Logan airport hotel, but get driven to and from the airport by someone who can unlock the mysteries of the Logan Labyrinth.
