Quick, easy check in, and on site car rental. Everything is clearly marked, there's fast and free wifi, but not so many outlets. The people here are so friendly, its more accurate to call them neighborly. And BMH is literally five minutes from town. SInce flying out of Chattanooga costs just under $300 extra per ticket, we schlepped over to BHM, and we weren't sorry either. BHM was just right, not tiny like Chattanooga, but not a monster maze of rudenesss and confusion like LAG or LAX or whatever. And they don't fly those rumbly motion-sickmaking toy planes like smaller airports.

Now since you're not going to live here, this probably won't matter a great deal to you, but BHM is very close to squalid. The chairs are uncomfortable, but that's okay, cause I'm not sitting down on those skeevy mystery stains. There's a good centimeter of dust everywhere, and a queer smell in spots. Its just very old and unrenovated, and no one seems to care anymore. They've let themselves go to seed, like that funny relative you can"t quite place who keeps turning up at weddings. The Birmingham International Airport parking is closeby, though, but airport parking just costs too much and I prefer a stay and park package with a good BMH hotel. Oh, and eat before you go; there's no really nice food here, and limited options even if you don't care if its nice.
